A few firsts...
Today we had a few new adventures. After numerous days of Tanner sucking and slobbering all over my waterbottle, we decided to have him try his own sippy cup. Tanner also tried rice cereal for the first time. One joy of parenthood is experiencing new things with him!
The finished product! Tanner was quite proud of himself and the majority of the cereal actually ended up in his mouth.
Tanner in action!
Here is some footage of Tanner in action. He loves his jumper and can really get himself going. He is becoming more intrigued with the actual toys on the jumper. He loves turning the pages of the book and changing the music that plays. He is starting to move more in his walker. So far he is only able to move backwards, but he thinks it is funny and that he is pretty hot stuff!

Happy Easter!
We headed up North for Easter this year. Tanner even went on his very first Easter Egg hunt. We were able to spend time with our good friends. Brady and Kylee were very good at bringing toys to Tanner and Brady shared his blanket so that Tanner could take a nap. It was also nice to have a grown up dinner with Jaclyn and Erick to catch up. We spent lots of time with Grandma Mary, and Great Grandpa Katzenmeier kept up entertained all weekend. We were able to spend more time with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Linda as well. Overall it was a extremely busy but good trip.
Tanner decided he wanted to taste all the Easter Eggs which were decorated as sports balls. He even tried to eat his Easter basket. He loved the fact that the eggs made noise and were just his size to handle.
This was Tanner's Easter present from Grandma Mary. It is a turtle that opens up and can be used as a sandbox once he gets older. For now he has his own personal ball pit. He started out sitting up in the ball pit and then decided to lounge in it. He is very entertained and I think it will become even more fun once he is mobile. But for now he definately enjoys playing in his pit and keeps busy keeping an eye on Sosa to make sure he doesn't steal any of his balls.
Tanner's stuffed monkey from Grandma Carole for Easter was perfect for the long car ride. He chewed and pulled on every inch of his new toy, talking to it in the backseat. It definately made the car ride more fun and easier on Dad and Mom.
At the church Easter breakfast Tanner was able to spend time with his Auntie Kady. They had the important job of greeting all the breakfast eaters and giving them instructions on how to get all the yummy food.
5 months
Tanner is 5 months old...wow how the time has flown. His personality is beginning to come out and he is showing us new tricks everyday. Tanner is starting to enjoy tummy time for longer amounts of time and loves to watch the puppies. He wants to be mobile so badly that being on his stomache sometimes frustrates him that he can't go anywhere. Overall we are blessed with a healthy happy boy!

Hiking with the Meyers
Tyler, Tanner, Callie and I under and behind Horsetail Falls. This was the first falls we hiked to and the trail took you in the cave behind the falls.
Katie, Tanner and I in the same cave but now you can see some of the falls behind us.
Unlike Booney, who loves the water, Callie did not want anything to do with it, but she jumped up on this log and walked out to Tyler who was out above the water. Then she wasn't quite sure how to get herself turned around to come back, but she figured it out. This is right above Triple Falls.
The whole gang! We had such a great time and the weather cooperated. It was a little cold starting out but we missed the crowds who we met on our return trip. We couldn't have asked for a better day.
Aunt Katie and Tanner while we were stopped eating lunch. Tanner loves his Auntie Katie as you can tell by the huge grin on his face.
Tyler, Tanner and Callie checking out the river and falls at our lunch spot. Overall it turned out to be great day and Tanner and Callie did so well that I am sure there will be more hikes this summer. Thanks Meyers for the fun adventure, we look forward to many more this summer!
Spring Break
Tanner and I headed up north for spring break. We were able to spend a few days visiting with family and friends before seeing them all at Easter. Tanner is really becoming a great traveling buddy and does really well in the car. Once again we stayed with Great Grandpa Katzenmeier, Grandma Mary and Jasper. It was fun to get to see everyone and Tanner thinks Great Grandpa Katzenmeier is pretty entertaining.
A highlight of the trip was we were able to spend a morning with our friend Nayeli and her mom Jaclyn. Nayeli had lots of fun new toys to play with and it was fun to watch them interact with each other and track each other around the room. Nayeli wasn't quite sure what to think when Tanner played in her jumping toy and Tanner wasn't sure how he felt about Nayeli using his ball, but overall they played great and we had a relaxing morning. We are blessed with such great friends and to be so close in age(6 weeks apart).
So...we all knew it was coming, we just didn't know how soon. Tanner has his first motorcycle...Uncle Matt would be proud. It is a Honda and Grandpa Mike was very proud to introduce his grandson to his first bike. The question will be once it is running, who will try to ride it first...mom or grandpa mike? Overall we had a great time and we are excited to see everyone real soon!

Four Months
Wow...four months have pasted by and Tanner has definately changed. At his four month check-up he weighed 15lbs 1oz and was 26inches long. Everyday feels like a new adventure with him. He is smiling and giggling lots and it is fun to watch what catches his interest. He has recently discovered his feet and toes and loves to grab his pant legs trying to get to them. He is learning to use his legs and loves his jumping toy(video coming soon). We are so blessed to have such a fun, loving, happy son!
Sorry about Sosa in the background...I just saw it when I posted this. Just focus on the cute picture of Callie and Tanner.
