Visitors

Over the past few weeks we've had some special visitors. The first week after Trey was born my Aunt Kit came to visit and lend a hand. She graciously slept on my couch while Tyler was out of town, and was willing to help in any way possible. This included walking with Trey at 5am while I slept and playing ball and cars with Tanner all day. (I realized I didn't get a picture the entire time she was down here.)

Next, my college roommate, and one of my best friends came to visit. It was so great to just sit and do "nothing". We were able to catch up on life. Below is Betty, Tanner, and Trey. Tanner was so silly about taking a picture.

The next weekend one of my best friends Jaclyn, her daughter Nayeli and her mom Cathy all came down to visit. Jaclyn and I were born 2 days apart and have known each other since Kindergarten and Nayeli and Tanner are just 6 weeks apart. Talk about entertainment. Nayeli and Tanner went non-stop and had so much fun playing with each other, from chase, to cars, to babies. Jaclyn and I were able to slip away and catch up over yummy dessert and even the Grandma's had time to shop together. The picture below is Trey with Nayeli and Jaclyn.

Here is Nayeli and Tanner, both very serious about playing at the train table.

I feel so blessed to have such awesome friends and a wonderful support group! I wish that we lived closer to everyone so that we could see each other more, but how does the saying grow..."absence makes the heart grow fonder?" We can't wait to see everyone again!

Trey's First Bath

First bath. Trey's belly button fell off quickly but took a little big of time to heal. Last week he was able to take his first bath in the sink. After Tanner took his bath in the tub we asked if he wanted to help give Trey a bath...the answer was an excited yes!
He ran to get his stool from downstairs but was then concerned when I put Trey in the sink and not the tub. Trey did fairly well for his first time and I think he will come to love the water like his brother. Tanner helped me wash Trey's hair and kept telling Trey that it was okay.
Overall, it was a success and Tanner can't wait to be able to take a bath with Trey in the tub with him.

Trey Update

After two weeks Trey is settling into our daily family life, or we could say we have adjusted to him. At his two week check up he had grown 3/4 of an inch in length and now weighs in at 8 lbs 12 oz ( he was 7lbs 2oz. when we left the hospital). The doctor says that everything looks great and that he is in the 90% for height and 75% for weight, which is pretty similar to Tanner's stats at this age.
We found out after visiting a pediatric urologist that Trey has a condition called hypospadias. Basically it is when the urinary tract points down out of the penis instead of straight out. His is very minor, where instead of pointing completely down, the opening of his penis is too big which will cause him to spray all over when he pees instead of in a straight line. After talking to the doctor, we found it is corrected through an outpatient surgery when he is six months old.
For now, we will just wait until the end of summer for the surgery. There is the update on Trey. We will keep you posted on our growing boy!

Boys will be boys...

After a heavy rain Tanner, Trey and I went outside to walk and get the mail. On the way back he wanted to jump in the puddle. I figured no big deal, he has his boots on. What started out as jumping turned into sitting "next" to the puddle and putting his hands in, and then throwing rocks in. Scroll down to next picture...

Sitting "next" to the puddle progressed to sitting in the puddle and splashing the water with his hands. At this point I was still okay with the situation and was letting him have his fun, figuring we would walk through the garage and strip him before going inside. Scroll to next picture...

I finally had to redirect the mud puddle play when he laid down and attempted to blow bubbles in the mud puddle. At this point I had to explain that we only blow bubbles in the swimming pool and bath tub not in dirty mud puddles.

Here is to many more days of jumping in mud puddles and making the most of the everyday moments.
